Good news and bad news: we now have some background information on Chisako Sato.
Before I get to the bad news, here’s a slightly condensed version of the information I've received from my detectives: Sato was born some years ago in a small town within the Kanto region of Japan and died from a severe anaphylactic reaction after being stung by a bee while attending a protest for a new shopping mall. As this may suggest, she was quite the environmentalist in life, and those who knew her describe her as having been earth-loving and ambitious. As for criminal offenses, I didn't find anything more than a few accounts of trespassing and other property torts, which, while not necessarily good, means that we at the very least have the good fortune of not having to deal with a serial killer or something equally as exciting.
However - and this is the bad news - there is something in Sato's background that doesn't work in our favor: she was a spirit medium, and while this is definitely ironic given whose body it is she's decided to use to do whatever she's planning on doing, it also means that she could and probably will prove to be a lot more dangerous than your average angry apparition. Let me put it this way: being in tune to the spirit world gives you the power to do just as much evil as good, and while at this point I can't claim to know what exactly Sato's objective is, I can tell you that I'll be bloody thrilled if all Ms. Fey's body is used to do is conduct a few bank robberies and assassination attempts.
I'll do what I can to continue collecting more information on the situation as it continues to unfold, but in the meantime we need to get people from the Bureau out on the scene. Not just for the safety of Ms. Fey, but possibly for the sake of the rest of the world as well.

I can't even think straight, I'm so exhausted. Could things just, you know... not happen all at the same time for a change?? As if the custody case isn't stressful enough... I have a really bad feeling about all of this.

To-Do List:
Check luggage.
Call Pop.
Squeeze in a visit to Mum. Thursday. Smack George for old time's sake for sending me bad paperwork just because. Think up an excuse to avoid that dinner party on Friday. Figure out when I can see friends before Monday. Avoid jetlag? (... Yeah, maybe in my dreams!)
I can't believe I haven't been back home in over a year. I'm a little nervous, but hopefully things won't be too awkward, and if anything it'll be nice to see everyone.
Take deep breaths and think positive! ... Or something like that.

Just wanted to let everyone know that I'll be in England visiting friends and family until Monday. It's a little short-notice, I know, but I figured I'd take advantage of all that vacay time I haven't been using before it disappears on me and do something with it. If anyone needs me for something, you can reach me through my work e-mail.
By the way ... since I'm going to be driving up to London over the weekend to take care of some business, I was wondering if anyone wanted me to bring something back for them. Big Ben wouldn't be able to fit into my suitcase, sad to say, but I'm sure I can find some appropriately tourist-y magnets or something if anyone's into that kind of thing.
Anyway, my flight's just about here, so I'll see everyone next week. Bye.

Well, that sucked. There's nothing quite like being expected to do your job properly while being shadowed by some phrenetic Looney Tune. I swear, when the guy wasn't dodging around corners trying to be sneaky, he was invading my personal space and staring at me like I was planning to pull a handful of used hypodermic needles out of my pocket and throw them at someone's forehead.
Not exactly the epic week of mayhem I'd been anticipating, but definitely just as annoying. It's been over a week and I'm still turning around to make sure he's not there. I think all this work is getting to me, or something ...
Anyway. Glad it's over, am happy to put it behind me. Hopefully everyone else did fine and that nobody is dying from the hideously warm weather we've been getting lately. Just in time for my A/C to break, too, which provides me yet another thing that I have to look into. Oh, thundering joy.

Depending on how my schedule pans out over the course of the next couple of weeks or so, I might end up flying back home for a few days and seeing if everyone over there is still alive. I haven't visited in a while, and anyway, there's an ogre that's discovered the internet whom I really need to strangle speak to, so between one thing and another, I think it'd be worth it. Besides, I haven't visited Mum in a while.
We'll see, I guess. Anyway, does anyone know of any good recipes with squid? I'm getting a little burned out on the healthy diet of fast food and applesauce I've been surviving on for the past week or so, so any input would be appreciated.

And the plot thickens. I don't think that I personally have anything to worry about as far as being reassessed goes, but I'm a little concerned about how some of the others will fare. You never know how things will function under new management, and given the nature of the some of the rumors surrounding Grey ...
We'll see, I guess. I don't really have the energy to get my trousers in a twist over it, anyway; George finally got back to me about those files I'd asked him about, and not only is it a lot of paperwork on petty crimes that don't even remotely relate to what I'm looking for, but it's all arse-numbingly dull. If you must use your Reiki inappropriately, at least be creative about it!
I wonder if Ayame could help me sort through all of this Yeah. Sure.

Still haven’t heard back from George. What could possibly be taking him so long? It’s not as if he actually does anything productive, at least not outside of paper pushing and pestering me non-stop.
… I know I’m not one of the people assigned to the investigation, but, well, whatever. It’s only natural for me to make sure that nobody’s using the methods that my family is responsible for spreading improperly, right? Right.

[Filter: Westley] Sir --
I turned the entire building upside down, metaphorically speaking, and tried to see if I could get through to her via some of the other spirits wandering around, but I wasn’t able to make contact with Ms. Miller. Unless Ms. Sadoku managed to find her, I think it’s safe to say she’s passed on from this world.
Apologies for the late response.

I don’t know about you two, but I, personally, have dug up a whole lot of nothing as far as finding alternate guardians for Jamie. Ms. Miller didn’t leave many clues as to who she would be comfortable with caring for Jamie in the event that something happened to her, aside from not wanting them to be some crazy, abusive crackpot.
We don't have much time left to do any further looking around, so unless either of you gentlemen have come up with anything or have any objections, Wright, I say we go with Mrs. Coulter.

[Filter: All personnel] If anything, we can take comfort in the fact that her death seemed like it was quick. Things happen beyond our control, and sometimes the good in them aren't easily recognized, but I think that the fact that she didn't suffer for very long is a kindness worth some measure of acknowledgement.
Does anyone know how Jamie's doing?

First order of business: a deep breath. I might be asking for too much, but let's not do a lot of flapping around. Okay? Good.
By the way ... whoever it is that takes their break in the office and spends the entire time playing Pong, knock it off already! Or at least have the decency to turn the volume down, you obnoxious idiot. Your entertainment isn't more important than my ability to concentrate, thanks.

Somehow, it seems like the ghosts around here are more restless than usual. They're even starting to circle around the outside of the building.
Some of those spirits were fixated, though. They're not supposed to be moving ...
Either way, I should see if they know anything about Layla's murder. They probably won't tell me anything even if they do, being the nice guys they are, but it's worth a shot anyway. [/Filter]

WHAT AM I SUPPOSED TO RUN ON AROUND HERE, THE SHEER JOY I TAKE OUT OF MY JOB? R.I.P, ME
Ahem I'd like to remind everyone that it really isn't necessary to drain the entire coffee pot and leave it that way. There are some people here who really, really do need caffeine to survive (like, y'know, ME, for example), and this is especially true when you strain yourself to take into consideration that things as of late have seemed more lacking in stability than it usually does (oh gee, wonder why that is!).
Now that we've hopefully established an understanding there, I heard through the office grapevine that there's a couple new people around. Hello, how are you, bonjour, hola, etcetera etcetera, and remember not to find me and make a gigantic pest of yourself unless you've done something stupid.

Happy birthday to me. 28 isn't that bad so far ... but it would be better if that didn't mean I was erring on the edge of being old (30! Seriously?) and I didn't have so much crap I had to get done. Is work all I'm good for anymore?? I SWEAR this is going to kill me someday.
I'm starting to miss college. Gah! So busy, so busy, so busy ...
